Logo How to get there: exit at Albenga (Highway A10 Ge-Ventimiglia) Going up from Alassio near the railway station and crossing the Belvedere di Stellanello you can reach Testico.

You can also get to Testico through the valleys of Andora. Along the crest of the hills you can admire the Merula and Terrone Valleys and after many curves you will get to Testico.

The town extends in its natural urban structure and it has beautifully colored homes that enjou a breathtaking view of olive groves and vineyards.

The Maritime Alps reflect the magic and brightness of the landscape.

It is an ancient Roman Castrum and Testico was protected throughout the centuries because of its strategical position between the sea and the hinterland. After the domination of the Bishops of Albenga it became territory of the Doria and Savoy families.

The Napoleonic vicissitudes brought on a bureaucratic suspension of the town until it was annexed to the Sardinia Kingdom.

Among the well lit narrow alleys you can take wonderful romantic photographs. The Baroque Parish Church is well lit inside and it is rich in 18th century frescos. There is also a prestigious 1500 canvas by Lazzaro Tavarone that portrays the Martyr St. Steven.

Among the woods that are always threatned by fires you can reach Passo del Ginestro and the Cappella dell’Ascensione. In the surroundings you can admire the ruins of a 13th century Doria castle.

In the area of the “boundary” of Passo della Guerra there are reminders of the cruel battles between the Republic of Genoa and the Savoy as well as the “Rio sanguineo” (the bloody River) that explains its sad heritage.
