| Alassio was a land of witches in the past. It is said that witches called “bazure”, in the stormy nights gathered on the beach and sailed with the fishermen’s boats. Before dawn, they came back and tidied the boats, deleting the signs of their presence. |
A more recent tradition is the tradition of “Muretto” conceived by Berrino, the owner of Caffè Roma: he has sticked the famous tiles on the “muretto” with the signs of various VIPs (more than 550). The famous “baci of Alassio” are a typical sweet, that you will taste in many confectioner’s of the city. |
It is a chocolate biscuit, particularly tasty, made with, sugar, cocoa, hazelnut, chocolate, cream, egg white, yolk, cocoa-butter, vanillin, butter, rhum, and honey. The “baci di Alassio” are very famous.
