How to get there: Exit at Busalla or Arquata Scrivia Highway A7 (Genoa-Serravalle-Milan) or Passo della Bocchetta.
The so called Strada dei Pellegrini that was used by the faithful Christians to reach Rome included a view between the plains and the hills of the ancient Derthona. It led to the city of Genoa through the Passo della Bocchetta that has origins before the Via Postumia.
From Pontedecimo to the green fields of Praglia you can reach the pass that connected the Polcevera and Lemme Valleys. If you take the street that goes along the Piedmont side you will reach Molini that has two unique bridges allowing you to enter Voltaggio. The Romano Bridge enriches the breathtaking landscape. In the Convent of the Capuchin Fathers you can visit a rich art galley that contains paintings from the Genovese and Lombard schools. It displays prestigious canvases that are signed by the most famous artists of the 16th and 18th centuries. It is a well-known place because of its hydrotherapeutic effects and sulphur fountains.
From Voltaggio you can enjoy enchanting excursions to the Gorzente Lakes, the Natural Park of Capanne di Marcarolo, and the Benedictine settlement which is sadly known for the terribile Nazi events of 1944. The Lavagnina Lakes make up a wonderful spot for those who love to take swim in a clean and healthy environment that is dominated by its mining past that still today captures the attention of the most modern pioneers that are in search of the legendary Eldoardo.
