The Mornese Castle |
| The powerful castle dominates the town and from here you can admire a view of the town and the typical red roofs of the homes. These homes make up that part of the area that has been called Borgoalto. You can reach the hill by a steep street that begins in the small square and you can see the old building that is home of the town hall. In 1404 the Genovese troops occupied and destroyed the stronghold and they only trace of the castle is the castle wall that has a garden. |

The castle was rebuilt a few years later by the Genovese. Its construction dates back to the 18th century and what makes the Mornese castle different is its base, which highlights the urbanistic changes that occurred during the years. It has a noble aspect and it is also well preserved plus it is still the property of the Doria family and this ancient building has a modern image of lived in noble home.
