The Castle of Casaleggio Boiro
The Castle of Casaleggio Boiro is the most ancient manor of highlands of Monferrato. Built in the 10th century and later modified and amplified in the 12th century. In 1967 it became an important location due to the movie ”I Promessi sposi”.
The landscape surrounding Ovada is rich in castles and strongholds which in the words of a famous poet constitute “history carved in stone”, authentic remnants of controverted and secular events.
Sadly,like the majority of the castles, also Casaleggio Boiro is a private property and therefore it is not open to the public.		 In any case it offers a pictoresque eyeopener
