How to get there: exit at Sestri Levante and continue along the SS1 Aurelia until you reach the community of Castagnola.
From the Deiva Marina exit, continue towards Castagnola and then towards Framura.
The territory of Framura is made up of different communities that are scattered along the panoramic ridge of the sea. There are only a few historical accounts that mention the development of these rustic areas located among the green plant life.
However, it can be deduced that during the Medieval period these towns were built as a shelter away from the sea raids.
This is highlighted by a defense tower in the community of Costa that was then turned into a bell tower of the Romanic Parish Church of St. Martino de Muris, documented in 1128.
Even though its original structure has been destroyed throughout the centuries it still has prestigious architectural elements. Its three naves are divided into octagonal columns.
The Baptismal Fountain is illuminated and it has the painting of the Madonna Rosario with St. Bernard of Bernardo Strozzi.
After passing the community of Setta, seat of the Municipality you can reach Anzo. Here you can see a watch tower and the Romanic Chapel of N.S. della Neve that was restored in the Ligurian-Gothic style. This highlights the Medieval development of the town.
From here, after a windy road you will arrive at a beautiful green sea that has a high and rocky coast that delights the passion of the more demanding beach lovers who love to dive from high above.
