How to get there: Highway A10 Genoa-Ventimiglia and exit at Albenga and then go along the SS 453 or you can exit at Imperia and continue along the SS 28 towards Colle di Nava.
This plebeian town was a meeting place for all the inhabitants of the towns of the Upper and Middle Arroscia Valley and this favoured the development of the medieval town of “Teichos.”
In fact, in 1232 on the side of the old Church the first homes were built and thanks to its fantastic position the town became object of disputes.
It was a property of Clavasana and then it went to the Genovese where it underwent many invasions on behalf of the people from Piedmont that obtained the town in 1815.
Today, the structure of Pieve di Teco is still intact and it is located in the middle of a beautiful valley that has a rich natural patrimony.
The Church of St. Maria della Ripa derives from the ancient Church. In fact, it dates back to the 15th century and its late Gothic architecture is still intact.
Very mighty are the noble Palazzos of Clavasana, the Counts of Ventimiglia, and Laigueglia.
The actual Parish Church of St. Giovanni Battista is an 18th century construction that has been recently restored.
Very interesting is the Chiostro degli Agostiniani which is dominated by a 16th century bell tower.
Other fascinating monuments are the Medieval Bridge, the oil mill, and the Mulino located beyond the river where woods rich in vegetation and wild life intertwine with prestigious vineyards.
The enchanting landscape is full of itineraries and for our winter sport lovers there is the nearby Monesi which is a fantastic resort located on the slopes of Mount Saccarno.
