This mountainous territory offers towns that are scattered from the Alps to the Ligurian Sea as well as prehistoric traces, awesome medieval towns, castles, and famous worldwide sea resorts.
The Riviera dei Fiori (the Riviera of Flowers) is magical and its territory extends from Ventimiglia to Capo Cervo. Ventimiglia has great and very important artistic monuments.
For our history lovers, near the border there are the great caves of “Balzi Rossi” as well as a Prehistoric Museum and these represent two important cornerstones of the Mediterranean history.
At Capo della Mortola there is the enchanting Villa Hanbury that has a prestigious Botanical Garden. It is an extraordinary fusion of iron and sea.
Dolceacqua is the main medieval town of Val Nervia and it is located along the two sides of the torrent that is united by a magnificent bridge. In fact, this area is a beautiful natural scenery.
The Romanic aspect of the Doria Castle still reigns between mystery and legend that has been passed down by popular traditions that believes that you can still see the beautiful and virtuous Filomena wander about the narrow alleys.
In the valley you can visit Isolabona, Rocchetta Nervina, and the old and picturesque town of Apricale and from here you can go to the town of the astronomers, Perinaldo.
Then there is Pigna, which is a famous destination for tourists that love thermals.
