The National Award for the Fiaba Hans Christian Anderson – Baia delle Favole is an important event.
The name of the award is due to the fact that Anderson lived in Sestri Levante in 1835.
In 1967 this event was idealized in order to highlight the importance of a literary type that is fairy tales, which is very popular but not studied. |
This award has seen winners that are important to the Italian culture such as: Alberto Moravia, Vittorio Zucconi, Sergio Zavoli, Mario Soldati, Vittorio G. Rossi, and Emanuele Luzzati.
Throughout the years, along side the award other cultural events that are tied to children have been organized.
