| Palazzo Negrotto Cambiaso and the Historical Villas of Sestri Levante |

| On of the many important palazzos that was already home of noble Genovese families represents a typical villa that is not tied to economical functions. It is located in the Baia del Silenzio (Portobello) only a few meters from the ex Convent of Our Lady of the Annunciation. Both buildings have been recently restored and today it is home of the Fondazione Mediaterraneo (Mediterranean Foundation). |
Sestri Levante has many important 17th and 18th century historical villas that were built by noble Genovese families such as: Balbi, Cambiaso, Sartorio, Pallavicini, Cattaneo della Volta, Doria, Fieschi, and Piuma. |
Usually these villas are tied to economical functions such as farms. However, there are also examples of 19th century villas such as Rimassa as well as a rationalistic villa (Villa Domus). |
