...The St. Rocco Chapel...
It was built in the 15th century by the Montoggio population in order to protect themselves from a terrible plague that hit the Ligurian population.

The chapel has only one alter that contains the wooden effigy of St. Rocco and he is celebrated on every year on August 16.
History and tradition tells us that near this chapel Count Gerolamo Fieschi was beheaded in July 1547 by the order of Agostino Spinola. He was the brother of Gianluigi who was the cause of the failed conspiracy of the Fieschi family against the Republic of Genoa. He too was beheaded along with Assereto and Verrina.
