| The Church of St. Francesco was rebuilt in 1630 by the Costaguta family and it without a doubt an important example of Baroque architecture. The Church and the Oratory date back to 1219 when they were founded in Cadè by St. Francesco. |
The Church of St. Giovanni Battista is located in Piazza S. Giovanni and it was designed by Andrea Ceresola il Vannone. It was built on top of a 15th century chapel as well as one that dates back to 1178. The church has a cupola and a beautiful 16th century bell tower. Inside, you can admire three naves, the Costaguta family tomb, canvases and frescos by Giovanni Battista Carlone and on the main alter you can admire a magnificent Crucifix by Anton Maria Maragliano. |
The Church of St. Giacomo in Rupinario is the oldest church in Chiavari and it was founded in the 7th century, however the church seems to be of a later epoch since its restorations ended in 1637. The result of further restorations are the 18th century bell tower and a modern 1938 façade. |
