Logo Comune Bogliasco Bogliasco is located along the Via Aurelia and it is a well-known resort.

The most ancient part of the town is concentrated at the mouth of the Bogliasco torrent that can be crossed by the ancient medieval bridge that substituted one of the most ancient roman constructions.

The inlet contains a small beach and it is surrounded by colorful and depicted homes that reach the Ponente with Castello, which was once a ancient tower that was then transformed into a private home.

The more modern area of Bogliasco is made up of scattered homes and villas located in the lush vegetation of palm trees and a great amount of colorful flowers.

The parish church is a typical example of 18th century architecture. It has an octagonal base and was built under the supervision of the architect Anton Maria Ricca and it is enriched by the presence of the Maragliano statue. Unique is the cobbled paving that has designs of the church square that faces the sea.

For centuries the inhabitants of Bogliasco have always performed maritime jobs but now Bogliasco has become a residential area and place to go on vacation.

The areas of Poggio, San Bernardo and Sessarego are located higher up and were used for protection. In these areas the inhabitants of Bogliasco would hide when there were pirate raids.

One of the economic resources of Bogliasco is its nurseries. There are a vast number of greenhouses that specialize in the growing of orchids. Common festivals are the feast of the broad bean (basanne) on May 1 and that of Nostra Signora dell’Assunta on August 15 that ends with a spectacular firework show.
